Try to replace “fool” with 0 in /usr/local/bin/temper_mon.pl or correct your mrtg.conf to not use the Out Threshold.

Hi, I’m trying to use your procedure to monito mi server room temperature, but when i start MRTG, i recive this error:

2011-08-29 22:29:29: WARNING: Problem with External get ‘/usr/local/bin/temper_mon.pl’:
Expected a Number for ‘out’ but got ‘fool’

Update for latest Linux Kernel: it seems that latest Linux Kernel (for example Ubuntu 10.04 with 2.6.38) handle out of the box these kind of Internet Key, so you also get Network Manager integration. Cool!

hi,
it’s my same configuration, BUT, on my laptop, it doesn’t work!
it say me that the device is unrecognized, so display a screen that ask for:
periferic type (only ‘serial’ is allowed)
periferic data port (an empy field)
periferic control port (another empty field)
connection speed (115200)

so, since I’ a dummy, I’m not able to fill the fields…. cah you help me?
